Carolina quarries have flourished for over 100 years. They produce some of the most beautiful architectural stone and highest grade construction stone in the world. Demand is high worldwide with many companies both large and small endeavoring to supply stone locally as well as internationally.
Hampton Hauling was started in 1998 to bring you the best in commercial, residential, and farm delivery of all types of products that may require or can use the services of a large dump truck. Being a 14 yr. long-haul veteran, I felt qualified to recognize and offer the quality and dependability of service that individuals and contractors alike expect and deserve. As an owner-operator I strive to provide the same service that I would expect as a customer.
We deliver crushed stone from all of the area quarries - Cardinal Stone at Galax, VA, Atkins, VA, and Jefferson, NC / Salem Stone at Sylvatus, VA and Wytheville, VA / F & M Construction at Poplar Camp, VA / Sand Mountain Sand at Wytheville, VA / Mountain Materials at Mouth of Wilson, VA / Ararat Rock at Mount Airy, NC / Austinville Limestone at Austinville, VA. Asphalt, masonry & concrete sand, and all sizes of stone are available. Agricultural lime is also available at Austinville, VA. Haul rates for these products are per loaded mile or by the load. Mulch, river sand, and fill dirt are available locally. Hourly rates and per load rates are quoted for these products. Payloads range from 15.5 to 16 tons with smaller amounts delivered as requested.
Our normal service area covers Grayson County VA, Carroll County VA, parts of Wythe County VA, Alleghany County NC, and parts of Surry County NC.
The communities of Galax VA, Hillsville VA, Independence VA, Fries VA, Ivanhoe VA, Austinville VA, Elk Creek VA, Woodlawn VA, Mouth of Wilson, VA. Fancy Gap VA, Laurel Fork VA, and Sparta NC, Lowgap NC, and Piney Creek, NC are included.

The truck is a 1989 Freightliner with a 425 HP Caterpillar motor and a 13 speed transmission. This combination is very suitable for the hills and mountains of the local area. The dump body is 15 feet long and the truck has an empty weight of 22020 lbs. Maximum gross weight is 54075 lbs. in Virginia and 56100 lbs. in North Carolina.
